THE UNCONTAINED HERETIC INVESTIGATIONS
From Research to the Field
Explore The Uncontained Heretic investigations. Research doesn’t always happen behind a desk.
Some questions require looking at the environment where an experience reportedly occurred, speaking with witnesses, examining available evidence, and documenting observations directly.
My investigative work focuses primarily on reported paranormal and unexplained phenomena.
Through Phantom Shadow Chasers, I participate in field investigations involving reported paranormal activity and unusual experiences.
INVESTIGATION APPROACH
Every investigation begins with the report.
What happened?
Who experienced it?
When and where did it occur?
What was observed?
What was recorded?
What changed?
What alternative explanations exist?
From there, the investigation can examine the physical environment, witness accounts, environmental conditions, available recordings, photographs, video, audio, and other relevant information.
DOCUMENTATION OVER DRAMA
An investigation should not begin with the assumption that something paranormal occurred.
It should begin with an observation that needs examination.
Possible explanations can include:
- Environmental conditions
- Building characteristics
- Electrical or mechanical sources
- Natural sounds and movements
- Human activity
- Perception and memory
- Sleep-related phenomena
- Equipment artifacts
- Misidentification
- Deliberate interference
- And, where conventional explanations remain insufficient, phenomena that warrant further investigation
The goal is not to manufacture evidence.
The goal is to document what happened as accurately as possible.
FIELD INVESTIGATION PROJECTS
Phantom Shadow Chasers
My dedicated field-investigation project focused on reported paranormal activity and unexplained experiences.
Investigations may include:
- Residential locations
- Historic properties
- Reported haunted locations
- Witness interviews
- Environmental documentation
- Audio and video recording
- Photographic documentation
- Equipment-based observation
- Case research
- Evidence review
Detailed case reports will be published here as appropriate.
EVIDENCE REVIEW
Evidence will be presented with context.
A photograph is a photograph.
An audio recording is an audio recording.
A witness account is a witness account.
An unexplained recording is not automatically proof of a paranormal cause.
Where possible, evidence will be accompanied by information about the circumstances in which it was obtained and potential conventional explanations.
INVESTIGATION RECORDS
Future investigation pages may include:
Case Overview
What was reported.
Location
Where the investigation occurred.
Witness Accounts
What participants reported.
Pre-Investigation Research
Relevant history and background.
Environmental Observations
Conditions present during the investigation.
Evidence Collected
Audio, video, photographs, measurements, and other documentation.
Analysis
Review of the available material.
Alternative Explanations
Potential conventional explanations.
Outstanding Questions
What remains unresolved.
THE OBJECTIVE
An investigation doesn’t have to end with the words “paranormal confirmed” to be worthwhile.
Sometimes the most useful result is discovering that something previously considered mysterious has an ordinary explanation.
Sometimes the evidence remains inconclusive.
And sometimes an observation raises a question that deserves considerably more investigation.
All three outcomes are useful.
